Thousands of wishes, read on the New Year cards throughout my life, heard on the street and sent via emails, making them look so colourful and joyful by endless meanings, are filling my head. A new year, like this one that is behind the corner, will be well remembered. In fact, this New Year for the Albanians has not come like always on January 1. This year has started on December 15 at 12 o’clock and 1 minute when an Albanian woman, called Sheqere crossed the border simply with a passport in her hand. It is called a biometric passport but I am sure that after some time, this word will be archived in the memory of the Albanians. Of course, this is called a new year. This is a time when our airplanes travel full of people who want to greet the world, people who some time ago, were not aware of the geographical spaces of the old continent. It is a beautiful year. Such a nice atmosphere is in the air. This is the first step to freedom. These are slow but steady steps after a long period of isolation. Formulating a wish is probably a bit difficult because this one should be the best of all and the most inclusive one. I have always liked to see all the people happy. It is a good thing when you detect on their faces a warm peace, coupled with confidence and hope. Thus, with all my heart, through this magazine, which travels throughout the world together with you, inside some suitcase alongside with any other airlines’ magazines, I wish good luck to all of you. Surely one-year balance sheet includes our victories, our failures and pending issues. Surely we are one year grown up or one year older. Despite the time that goes by, it is important that the time you have lived was worthy and you have breathed air with all your strength while have felt yourself a better man. That’s why on this New Year, I wish you be happy when you see yourself on the mirror, without fearing that what you will see won’t be disliked. In such an atmosphere, I would like to believe that our lucky road has already started though the calendar marks 2011 and the future lies unknown ahead of us. With all its secrets, I am sure that this New Year will be much more beautiful than the one we left behind…
